Okkyung Lee – Moira
Cellist Okkyung Lee is one of the most dynamic forces in improvised music today, a fearless and powerful performer whose playing incorporates a love of noise, extended technique and elements from the outer fringes of contemporary composition. Using her classical training as a springboard, she incorporates jazz, sounds, Korean traditional music, and noise with extended techniques.
Since moving to New York in 2000, she has performed and recorded with numerous artists such as Derek Bailey, Nels Cline, Thurston Moore, Jim O’Rourke, Laurie Anderson and John Zorn to name a few. Her latest CD Ghil is actually a collaboration. Lee played all the sounds on the album, but they were recorded by Norwegian noise musician Lasse Marhaug, whose ideas guided the project.

Les Trucs – RASA
Les Trucs are an electronic human/thing-orchestra. By means of alienating seemingly familiar sounds, exaggeration through affirmative utilization of clichés and the deconstruction of structures, they attempt to provide a platform for revising listening-habits or dancing. Within this attempt, musicians and sound-generating devices commonly turn into a symbiotic compound of switches, controllers and extremities, making it unfeasible to retrace who is operating whom, in the end. They are flash-mass-hypnosis based on furniture music and spiral yogic flying. For a short spoken person, needy to seep into a sphere of blunt musical classification, Les Trucs may roughly be outlined as a R n B version of Klaus Nomi and Wendy Carlos.

Shackleton – RASA
Shackleton’s maverick take on big bass lines and complex beats doesn’t fit into easy categories and that’s how it’s going to stay. He became famous as one of the founders of Skull Disco. One of a new generation of hugely influential UK labels, and an early indicator of the resilience and dizzying potential of the dubstep virus. In 2008 Shackleton moved to Berlin. From his Studio in the former German Democratic Republic’s broadcasting house he handcrafts rhythms that open the door to new worlds. Shackleton has continued to refine his sound. His trademark are brooding atmospheres, intricate lattices of percussion and warm, embracing sub bass lines.

After party with David Douglas  – RASA
Utrecht-based producer David Douglas shares more than a name with the 19th century plant-hunting Scotsman; like the Douglas of old, the 20-something beatmaker is invigorated by the greatness of nature, and uses it as his muse when creating rich and atmospheric sounds. Douglas’ debut, Royal Horticultural Society, explores the frontiers of disco, bass, techno, and ambient music.
